The very first Outsider Art Fair was March 21-22, 2009, held at Frames Forever & Art Gallery (941 Orange Ave Winter Park, FL 32789) which featured a parking lot full of artists not involved in the concurrently-running Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival happening just down the street in Central Park. A highlight of the fair was Brian Feldman's Sleepwalk, which invited visitors to walk across a see-thru box while Feldman slept inside.
The second incarnation of the fair was March 20, 2010, also occurring simultaneously as the Winter Park Art Festival chugged along the same day down the street.
The fair was produced by the then-owner of Frames Forever, Katie Windish. She has since sold her frame shop and moved to California.
The new owners, Kim Marshall and Tracy Gasinski, are keeping the Outside Art Fair alive and putting it on this year April 23, 2011, 11am - 5pm at the same location. No vendor, artist, food or music names have been released yet. If you'd like to get involved, contact Kim at Frames Forever Gallery (407-622-6358, info@framesforevergallery.com), Chris Tobar (info@inprogressmag.com) or Maisy May Marrs (Fishgirlart@gmail.com).
