New Urbanism Lecture at Rollins: Andrés Duany

Co-founder and emeritus board member of the Congress for the New Urbanism, Andrés Duany will discuss his thoughts on the state and future of urbanism. In addition to practicing and speaking internationally, Duany's authorial credits include Suburban Nation, The New Civic Art, and the recently released Smart Growth Manual. He is also a principal author of the SmartCode, a model form-based code. Thirty years after the construction of Seaside, Duany continues to push the urbanism enveloping questioning the efficacy of green building standards, rethinking the charrette, discussing incrementalism in the new economy, and challenging Harvard Urban Design to a virtual duel.
