On Wednesday, April 13, electronic rock band, Breathe Carolina (Official Website Facebook Myspace) hit the stage at the House of Blues in Orlando. The Colorado-based duo comprises of singer David Schmitt and screamer Kyle Even. The band was the second to the last act of the night. There was much anticipation for Breathe Carolina to perform. During the break, before the band’s show, fans chattered about how much they love Breathe Carolina and were singing parts to the band’s songs. Once the curtains pulled away to reveal the drummer, deejay, and guitaristt/keytarist of Breathe Carolina on stage, the audience jumped up and down and started yelling. Kyle and David quickly emerged on the stage. Breathe Carolina started their set with electronic, techno and dance song I.D.G.A.F. The audience danced and some waved their middle fingers in the air along to the song. Breathe Carolina played for an hour or so. However, it felt as if the band only played for a few minutes.

Breathe Carolina played a set of six songs. “I.D.G.A.F”, “Hello
Fascination” and “I’m the Type of Person to Take it Personal” from the album “Hello Fascination”, “Lovely” and “The Birds and The Bees” from the album “It’s Classy, Not Classic” and “Down” from the album “Punk Goes Pop Cover 3”.

Breathe Carolina put on an entertaining, fun and energetic show. There were surprises in the show when Kyle jumped off the stage, attempted to crowd surf and walked through the audience. In addition, when fans crowd surfed and were close to the stage, they stretched out their hands to Kyle or David and almost every time, Kyle or David touched the person’s hand. It’s obvious that Breathe Carolina loves their fans. If you missed this show, make it a point to catch their show the next time they’ll be in Orlando.
Wednesday’s show was part of “The Spring Break Your Heart Tour” with Forever the Sickest Kids, We Are The In Crowd, Before Their Eyes and Tonight Alive.

The band has released two albums, “It’s Classy, Not Classic” in 2008 and “Hello Fascination” in 2009. The band’s forthcoming album is being released this summer but there is not a specific date yet. In July, the band will be touring in Brazil to play shows July 8-10.

I will posting several videos of my interview with David and Kyle of Breathe Carolina very soon. You’ll learn more about David and Kyle, the guys’ celebrity crushes, their dream date, and even the title of the band’s forthcoming album and so much more.
