Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will host a half-day forum titled; “Orlando: Choosing the Future after the Great Recession" Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 8am. Admission is free. This event will take place at Harry P. Leu Gardens (1920 North Forest Avenue, Orlando, FL).
The purpose of the event is to explore strategies the City and greater Central Florida region are currently pursuing to strengthen its community identity and make its economy more inclusive, competitive, diverse, and less vulnerable to future downturns. The discussion will also focus on future strategies to strengthen the local economy.
To set the broader context for the forum discussion, Greg Ip, U.S. Economics Editor for The Economist, will give a keynote address. Two panel discussions with audience exchanges will follow Mr. Ip’s presentation.
