Orlando Fringe 2011 Review: Miss Sammy Bakes a Cake

Everyone has a cooking show - Emeril, Rachael Ray, and now Miss Sammy too. And she has brought along some of her friends: Judy Garland, Roseanne Barr, Pepe (Orlando Fringe favorite) and Debbie Reynolds. Variety-showesque and gaudy, it's amazing any cooking (or baking) happens at all as Miss Sammy throws everything from her flask contents to the myriad of items pulled from the depths of Judy Garland's purse, into the mixing bowl.

Miss Sammy manages the somewhat scattered personalities that cross her stage in this drag queen show, strumming a madolin to accompany Judy Garland's distinct and unforgettable rendition of "Over the Rainbow."

Somehow, the scattered items end up in an assembled cake, and though you cannot say the same for the fruitcakes who knock on Miss Sammy's door, you can certainly appreciate the humor and laughs they bring.

Tip: Follow the Miss Sammy show with a cupcake!
