This creation from the mind of WPRK's "Out & About" host and local artist, Jeremy Seghers, takes the audience onto a TV show set with the behind-the-scenes personalities provided as a bonus. You are greeted with an impressive show program billed as a "TV Guide" that takes Fringe shows up a notch. Seghers' "Squatters" captures a sitcom ambiance for this mashup of a family that takes to squatting after they have lost everything.
An interesting twist? It's all improv. Without a script, it's hard to tell what direction the cast is headed, but there is sure to be a laugh around the corner. Audience laughter sound samples help to provide cues for the audience and add to the unique, sitcom format. The cast of actors play well off one another, providing an enjoyable 30 minutes from start to finish.
You can catch three more "episodes" of "Squatters" this week at the Orlando Fringe in the Brown Venue inside the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, each with a different guest star.
