Orlando Fringe 2011 Review: Wisdom Part One

Every show in Fringe theater has its own unique flavor, special offering and sometimes, even an after taste. That is, after all, the nature of Fringe. It's meant to be off-beat and unpredictable. I wasn't sure what to expect walking into Jimmy Hogg's 11:25 AM show on Sunday morning, but then again, I didn't expect him to mention that exact situation in his first few minutes on stage.

After waiting around for a climax or plot twist, it was ultimately clear to me that there wasn't one. Jimmy Hogg is simply Jimmy Hogg; a quirky, energetic Englishman with opinions freshly served, if you are willing to listen. He doesn't hold back from sharing his own cleverly packaged definitions, capsizing major concepts (such as religions of the world) into biteable sizes, that is if you don't choke on being confronted with a dissimilar opinion than your own.

The only Fringe show (to my knowledge), with an intermission built in; this is a show that some will love and others may not. But like many Fringe shows, you simply have to go to find out for yourself.
