13 photographs of Lake Ivanhoe Historic Residential District (map) will be chosen for the 2012 Historic Preservation Calendar. Each photograph selected by the Historic Preservation Board will earn the photographer a $100 honorarium. Submit your photographs here by the July 15, 2011 5pm deadline.
The approximately 262-acre district contains 1,016 buildings. The homes, built between the 1920s and 50s are built several styles: Frame and Masonry Vernacular, Bungalow, Craftsman, Colonial Revival, Dutch Colonial Revival, Mission Revival, Mediterranean Revival, Monterey Revival, Neoclassical Revival, Tudor Revival, Art Moderne, French Eclectic, International, Minimal Traditional, Ranch, Split Level, and Contemporary.
Notable features of the district include Lake Ivanhoe Park, which borders the shore of Lake Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe Plaza Park, in the southwestern section of the historic district, and the bridge at Poinsettia Avenue; Princeton Elementary School, located at the northern border of the district, is an Orlando Historic Landmark; and, the pioneer John Erricsson House, constructed c. 1882, at 19 West Princeton Street is the only surviving building erected before the development of College Park.
Submission Guidelines
1. Photographs must be black and white and printed on 8” x 10” or 8 ½” x 11" photograph paper with a white border.
2. Vertical or horizontal photographs are acceptable.
3. Up to three photographs, labeled on the back with your name and daytime phone number, must be submitted.
Submittal Deadline
Must be submitted and received by July 15, 2011 at 5 p.m
