JOHN VANDERSLICE plays McRaneys Tavern (map) on Monday, September 5th.
Florida's very own John Vanderslice is one of those guys who's been slowly and steadily DOING IT for over a decade. He writes pretty songs, with pretty arrangements, and has worked and toured with interesting people. When I went to college, he came through town fairly often, and always put on a great show. And this year, he made an album called 'Winter Wilderness' with a 19-piece orchestra(!), in just three days(!!), which is also terrific. The back room of McRaneys is a perfect place to catch him.
