Attendees will enjoy live entertainment at multiple venues, characters from various attractions, giveaways from participating airlines and free parking. In addition, guests will be able to visit the 6th Annual “Share the Art” Airport Employee Art Show.
The event is designed to thank the community for its support over the past three decades and showcase Orlando International’s contribution to the region’s economy and dedication to making travel to and from Central Florida a unique and enjoyable experience. The positive impact has been demonstrated by benchmark increases in domestic and international passenger traffic from 6 million in 1981 to 35 million in 2010.
The evolution from municipal airfield to world-class aviation facility became official when MCO’s new $300 million terminal complex was dedicated on October 2, 1981 with a vision to become “The Airport of the 21st Century.”
Milestones over the past 30 years included the simultaneous landing of two Concordes, the opening of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the addition of two airsides and two runways, completion of the nation’s second tallest control tower and creation of the “Orlando Experience.”
Orlando International has also been recognized over the years for its award-winning design concepts and customer service excellence, including receipt of the “Airports Are For People” award.
