When I was asked to be part of the Pink Ribbon Project, I thought it was going to be a fun show to work on... But I had no idea what - after months of work on the part of so many - it would become.
This collection of monologues, short scenes, dance pieces, video, audio and interactive art pieces is woven together by creative and humorous transitional elements that combine into an entertaining and meaningful 90 minute stage performance.
A collaboration between production company, Play the Moment, dance company, Canvas Creative Coalition, interactive art company, Uncover the Color and Florida Hospital - The Pink Ribbon Project is a coming together of some of Orlando's most talented performers in a single show.
The show is built around the fight against breast cancer, but the appeal and reach is much larger than that. It's an honest look at the struggle, fear, questioning and hope that exist in all of us - beyond age or gender.
The show begins tonight, Friday, Sept 16 at 8 PM
Additional performances are Saturday, Sept 17 at 8 PM and Sunday, Sept 18 at 8 PM.
Tickets are $20 and proceeds are donated to Florida Hospital to help women in their fight against breast cancer.
