Mayor Buddy Dyer and his Veterans Advisory Council have released participant applications for the City of Orlando’s 2011 Veterans Day Parade.
The City’s Veterans Day Parade offers a patriotic opportunity for the Central Florida community to honor our men and women in the armed forces. More than 3,000 parade participants are expected to recognize our veterans and active duty personnel in this year’s event.
WHO: In recent years, various groups and organizations have participated in the parade including: Veterans groups, active duty military, City of Orlando firefighters and police officers, high school bands from the Tri-County area, Tampa Bay Krewes and youth clubs.
Any local groups or organizations interested in participating in the parade to show support for our veterans and active duty personnel are encouraged to participate.
WHEN: Application deadline is October 7, 2011. The Veterans Day Parade will take place Saturday, November 12 at 11 a.m.
WHERE: The Veterans Day Parade will take place in Downtown Orlando, beginning at Orange Avenue at Livingston Street, turning left on Central Boulevard, turning left on North Rosalind and ending at Livingston Street.
