Tonight: Opening of Winter Park Historical Museum's New Exhibit

Winter Park Historical Museum’s grand opening party of "The Way We Were: Park Ave in the 1960s and 1970s is tonight, Wednesday October 19, 2011, 5-8pm.  The address is 200 W. New England Avenue at the Farmer’s Market in Winter Park.

About: Against the backdrop of upheaval in the ‘60s and ‘70s, Park Avenue maintained its composure while an older generation sipped cocktails at the Beef & Bottle, teens listened to the Grateful Dead and younger siblings slurped sundaes at the Yum Yum Shop. These contrasts are playfully captured in a sophisticated 1960s living room where guests can interactively explore period fashion, music, television, toys, food and fads.

The public is invited to the museum opening that features  food, drink and live music from those decades---think ‘pigs in a blanket’ and vanilla cokes!

Exhibition run: October 19, 2011 – July 28, 2012
Museum Hours: Tuesday-Friday 10-4 and Saturdays 8-2.
