This inaugural event welcomes a new series of short adult puppetry shows to Central Florida hosted by the  Central Florida Puppet Guild and is presented as part of the 2011  Orlando Puppet Festival.

Giant monster Godrick, creation of Jack Fields, will host the Action Puppet Force slam.
Godrick (video above), the 8-foot monster creation of  Jack Fields, will host the slam. Guard your ears. He might try to lay eggs in them.

Jean Minuchin
brings us the haunting tale of a girl reminiscing about the death of her sister. Her work is infused with a poetic sensibility, which explores the psychology of body language and blurs the line between characters and the context of their environment.
Bob Nathanson is the Humor Consultant for Puppeteers of America and the author of the comical semi-autobiography,  Diary of a Doll Wiggler. He'll be treating our audience to two important lessons on puppetry and the pursuit of happiness.

Madison J. Cripps of Cripps Puppets (video above) creates intricate marionettes that spring to life in his hands with personalities almost as outgoing as his own. In addition to his cabaret appearance with Valerie Meiss, he is co-presenting the Orlando Puppet Festival's presentation of Billy the Liar, an original puppet show created in partnership with Keith Shubert and Valerie Meiss.

Keith Shubert's storytelling is defined by the surprising warmth of its comic darkness; Keith’s villains are often as sweetly naive as his protagonists and equally endearing to children and adults. He brings his morality play "The Kid and the Con Man" to the Action Puppet Force slam.

A Gainesville trio provides a shadow show with live music.
Kathy Sohar, Kathleen McKee, and Sharon Larsen, a creative team from Gainesville, bring us a musical shadow show about a lonely fishmonger who dreams of marrying the local Lothario (pictured above). Beau Brown, co-creator of Dragon*Con's cleanup crew The Sci-Fi Janitors, brings us the true and uncensored story of the original moon landing.
Fresh off her gig puppet mastering the smash hit run of Avenue Q at Orlando's Theatre Downtown is Jamie Donmoyer, who partners with Sara Skinner to present a comic tale on tabletop. From NYC, Broadway costumierKari Love partners with puppeteer extraordinair Brendan Yi-Fu Tay and local assistants for "Armadillo", a short piece that blends puppetry, circus arts, and kiting!

Marta Mozelle MacRostie (video above) is a jazz vocalist as well as a puppeteer/builder. She'll be performing her glove puppet piece about the tragedy of a burnt breakfast, "Morning Toast", clips of which are included in the video above. Marta will also partner with fellow NYC puppeteer Honey Goodenough (yes, her real name) to perform "Cream", the story of how a lonely woman finds true love... with ice cream.

Margaret Davis manages a zany cast of characters as one of the South’s most busy ventriloquists! Her partner for this show, Douglas, is a yellow duck... who plans to work just a little blue for this adult audience.
