In a recent article on a Tex-Mex breakfast specialty taking root in Brooklyn, NY, Güeros, the breakfast taco seems to be taking off. But what caught my attention more was a taco, coffee, record-label gallery, Whirlybird. They too provide the breakfast taco. They serve two tacos: The No.1, either vegetarian or with chunky chorizo for an extra buck, and the oversize deluxe Waldorf. Both come on corn tortillas, griddled in corn oil until they're crisp and wavy. Inside, fluffy egg scrambled with Oaxaca cheese mingles with a hot stewed salsa of multicolored peppers and tomatoes. To finish, a brisk sprinkle of cilantro and a crumbling of jalapeno potato chips."
Sounds to me like an awesome morning meal, but to coincide the taco the ideal cup of coffee would be an Americano, for those who don't know, an Americano is adding hot water to espresso. The Americano is not the only espresso drink they have, Whirlybird prides on their "top-notch espresso" drinks.
Along the walls are displayed album covers that are viewed as art, and each album can be streamed for listening enjoyment. This is part of Whirlybird's record label gallery. Whirlybird is a first for the New York caffeine scene, and it leaves me to wonder, this would be neat to see here in Orlando.
