The REP Youth Academy Summer Theatre Camps

The Youth Academy’s camps and productions are designed to  foster self-confidence, creative thinking, problem-solving skills, collaboration, trust, and discipline through the medium of the performing arts. For more than 40 years, The REP has provided thousands of children in Central Florida with professional and stimulating performing arts experiences. All camps conclude with a showcase or “shareformance” on the final day, to which family and friends are cordially invited. Youth Academy camps and productions incorporate National Standards for Theatre Education and Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. 


SUMMER CAMPS
June 11-August 17

Students from Pre-K through 12th grade can choose from over 50 camps at The REP this summer! Popular camps include Ocean in Motion (NEW- Ages 2-3), Disney's CineMagic (grades 1-2), Broadway Blast (grades 1-2), Hogwarts Academy (grades 3-5), iCarly's Webshow (grades 3-5), That's So Random! (grades 6-10), SMASH Hits (grads 6-10), and Pop! Goes Broadway (grades 6-10).


Advanced Camps
The REP also offers Advanced Camps at UCF at their new state-of-the-art Theatre Building. These camps are geard towards serious theatre students entering 9th grade through graduating 12th grade students, focusing on musical theatre or acting.


Production Camps


Disney’s Mulan, Jr.
June 18-23 | 9am – 4pm - Performance: Saturday, June 23 at 1pm
Grades: Rising 3rd – 8th
Tuition: $250
The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the eccentric Mulan and her mischievous sidekick, Mushu, to save the Emperor! Disney's Mulan Jr. is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor, and a fighting spirit. The score includes "Reflection," "Honor to Us All," and "I'll Make a Man Out of You." An audition is required. 

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, Jr.
July 9-14 | 9am – 4pm - Performance: Saturday, July 14 at 1pm
Grades: Rising 3rd – 8th
Tuition: $250
Roald Dahl's timeless story of the world famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, featuring the songs from the classic family film. The memorable score features "The Candy Man," "Pure Imagination," "Oompa Loompa," and "I Want it Now." An audition is required.

The Bully Plays
July 23-August 4 | 9am – 2pm - Performance: August 4 at 1pm
Grades: Rising 6th – 10th 
Tuition: $300
After the success of last year's production of Eat (It's Not About Food), The REP continues its commitment to presenting plays that focus on the social issues and experiences of young people. This collection of short plays is touching, imaginative, funny, powerful, and uplifting.  Don't miss this amazing opportunity to explore drama through what's happening around you today. An audition is required. 

Summer Stock Production - STATE FAIR
Rising 7th - Graduating 12th grade students
Rehearsals: Monday - Friday, June 11 - July 13 | 2:30pm - 6:30pm
Tech Rehearsals: July 14 - 19 | Hours TBA
Performance: July 20 - August 5

Rodgers & Hammerstein's only musical written directly for the screen is now a stage musical that's had critics raving from coast to coast. Set against the colorful backdrop of an American heartland tradition, STATE FAIR travels with the Frake family as they leave behind the routine of the farm for three days of adventure at the annual Iowa State Fair. Mom and Pop have their hearts set on blue ribbons while their daughter and son find romance and heartbreak on the midway. Set to the magical strains of an Academy Award-winning score and augmented by other titles from the Rodgers and Hammerstein songbook, STATE FAIR is the kind ofwarm-hearted family entertainment only Rodgers & Hammerstein could deliver! An audition is required for this production.

Auditions for STATE FAIR are Saturday, April 14.
Auditions for Disney’s Mulan Jr., Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr., and The Bully Plays are Saturday, May 12 from 1pm-5pm.

For STATE FAIR, Disney’s Mulan Jr., and Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr. auditions, please prepare a one-minute, memorized comedic monologue, and 16 bars of a musical theatre song. Students must bring either the sheet music or an instrumental track on a CD or iPod. Students are discouraged from singing acapella. For The Bully Plays, please prepare a one-minute, memorized comedic monologue.
