"Planning the Food Truck Phenomenon" American Planning Association Public Talk

The Orlando Metro Section of the American Planning Association will be hosting a free round table in Kissimmee on Friday, November 2nd to discuss the many aspects surrounding mobile venders and cities.   • The Daily City’s creator and owner Mark Baratelli will speak on how the Food Truck Bazaar was created, the planning hurdles he’s encountered and will unveil future plans for local foodie events.
  • Craig Holland, AICP, City of Kissimmee, Development Services Director, will be discussing Kissimmee's Land Development Codes role mobile vending, concerns and perceptions of these vendors from existing retailers and community leaders, and how the City of Kissimmee was able overcome these concerns to attract events such as “The Food Truck Bazaar.” 
  • Also speaking will be Kissimmee Main Street, Executive Director Kelly Trace. She will be presenting results from actual surveys the Main Street Program has conducted during these events. The impact that these events have had on brick and mortar businesses and will go into details on these events led to the weekly “Kissimmee Valley Farmers Market” in downtown.


The event will also include an open discussion with the panel will also be included. Following the event will be an actual Food Truck Bazaar and downtown businesses will be open to explore.

  • 5:30 – 6:00PM - Q&A With Tour of Vendor Staging
  • 6:00PM - End of Event: Explore Kissimmee and the Food Truck Bazaar
