On Monday November 26th, 2012 Monsters in the Morning announced that Daniel Dennis had left the show. The reasoning given on the morning show was that a three year contract was offered but Dennis was demanding a one year contract. With Dennis already off the show he turned to Twitter to tell his side of the story while also
reaching out to his many local fans. The fans lit up Twitter and Facebook with the outcry from this departure. Both #TeamDD and #TeamDan were used to help follow the many tweets. We have reached out to Dennis for comment but for now this is what is unfolding in the story.
At 10:24AM Daniel Dennis began tweeting about what his side of the story was with this short but clear tweet...
A minute later just after Monsters gave their side of the story (that Dennis wanted a one year contract instead of a three year one) on the radio show Dennis tweeted...
Ramone Rivers tweeted back saying...
To which Dennis replied...
Another fan, Migglesworth on Twitter, replied to Dennis' tweet about contract calling the whole thing a...
Which Dennis seemed to enjoy...
Dennis made sure to let his followers know that the hard feelings don't go for everyone in the morning show crew. @TomVann also works with Dennis on the popular podcast A Mediocre Time with Tom and Dan. Vann's twitter has not been updated all day but his link goes to the Tom and Dan site and not the Real Radio site....
A few minutes later Dennis tweeted...
To which Angel Bourdeau stated...
Dennis then replied to her while giving us some more insight into what happened...
By this point Real Radio confirmed what was happening with this simple tweet...
Ross McCoy, a local comedian who is also works with Dennis on A Mediocre Time, tweeted out
Then McCoy included this graphic with a tweet...
Before calling the whole scandal a 'betrayal on a Shakespearean level' after another person asked what was going on...
Later in the day Real Radio sent out a second tweet about the incident encouraging listeners to check out the audio from the announcement (the same audio not working and linked in our first story about the exit)...
To which Melissa Hamilton tweeted showing the podcast love and said that Dennis should focus on that instead of the Real Radio...
