Rock band The Maine (FacebookTwitter) played in Orlando on Friday night at House of Blues with Mayday Parade and The Postelles. The Maine comprises of lead singer John O’Callaghan, bassist Garrett Nickelsen, guitarists Jared Monaco and Kennedy Brock and drummer Pat Kirch. Since the band’s start in 2007, The Maine has seen great success with a growing fan base and has played in many tours such as Vans Warped Tour and The Bamboozle Roadshow.
The Maine put on an energetic live show creating a good, carefree atmosphere at the House of Blues on Friday night. The band played a great show with a solid set list including “Like We Did”, “Right Girl”, “Into Your Arms”, “Misery” and “Growing Up”. Lead singer John O’ Callaghan showcased great vocals, at times playing the guitar or on a keyboard and entertained the crowd in between songs with advice about enjoying youth. All the band members had good stage presence and contributed to the entertaining show. The funniest moment of the show was when O’ Callaghan told a girl in the front of the pit to kiss the guy standing next to her on the mouth, but it turned out she already had a boyfriend. Towards the end of the show, the band surprised a fan who was celebrating her 17th birthday Friday night and invited her on stage for a song. The band performed their song “Growing Up” and the birthday girl sang every lyric while dancing.
TheMaine is still on tour with Mayday Parade and The Postelles. Click here for more information on the tour. On November 19th, the band will be releasing their DVD “Anthem For A Dying Breed”, a documentary that follows the band through the process of making and releasing their third album Pioneer.
