As many of the traditional Disney characters leave the streets of Magic Kingdom to the safety of air conditioned meet and greets we are seeing some of the magic being replaced by lesser known or brand new characters that don't garner the crowds that Mickey or the princesses cause.
While the decorations of the new Storybook Circus are great some have complained about a lack of environment outside of the Dumbo queue and water feature area. When the crowds are lighter the area can be downright dead even with the music and fountains. Now though we will be treated with some new characters that will both liven up the place and help immerse us even more in that magical Disney way. The Disney Parks Blog is reporting a new clown 'gang' will now be a part of Storybook Circus, much like the Main Street citizens, many of whom have become Disney icons in their own right. The Storybook Circus Giggle Gang includes Chuckles Buffoon McMonkeyshine III and his protégés, Whinny Horselaugh and Snort. There also will be a musical group, Silly Saxtet, lead by yet another clown, Wowzer. Many of the clowns are graduates of Florida's own Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College.
The clowns will be making their appearances beginning on Dec 6th, the day in which a ton of new things will open across Disney's property including the grand opening of the rest of New Fantasyland where Storybook Circus is located. Also on the 6th Test Track will have it's grand 2.0 reopening and the new walk through The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
