Construction on the 68-acre, $1 billion Creative Village coming to downtown Orlando may be underway sooner than expected.
Orlando Business Journal is reporting that Creative Village Development, LLC found an
'undisclosed' major educational tenant to not only locate their school there, but bump up the ground breaking date two years early to 2014.
So who is this educational tenant and why move the date up two years?
So who is this educational tenant and why move the date up two years?
It was pointed out on the website UrbanPlanet the grant application for Tiger II that helped fund the E/W Lymmo
expansion mentioned a commitment from Valencia College. The statement in question is found on page 3. At the time of the application, the college was still known as Valencia Community College, or VCC. Here is the exact language grom that document:
- "Once infrastructure is in place, the development team has commitments to develop an 80,000 square foot Digital Technology and Arts Program building for Valencia Community College (VCC),"
If the educational tenant is indeed Valencia College, they will be setting up shop near another educational tenant: UCF's Center for Emerging Media.
But why move the construction date up two years?
