Italio Modern Italian Kitchen | Noodles Inside a Wrap

By Ken Storey

Back in November we told you about Italio Modern Italian Kitchen opening its first Central Florida location (second in Florida) on the site of the former China Plaza Buffet on Orlando Avenue. See construction photos above.

The concept for Italio Modern Italian Kitchen is an Italian take on the Chipotle model: wrap, bowl or salad topped with various choices. "Italian food" and "wrap" merited some investigation, so we stopped by their location in Boca Raton, the first in Florida, to check it out for ourselves.

Italio's flagship location is in a strip plaza in Boca Raton right next door to a Chipotle.

We purchased the combo in which you receive half a wrap and half a bowl. You're required to get the same meat in both. The Italio wrap (see above) is tasty and filling. But as you can see, this meal is messy.
Eating the wrap quickly got tricky.  I was told the full wrap is a little easier to eat but this one quickly unfolded and more of the fillings were on the tinfoil than inside the wrap.

The bowl is a better option. Like we said, we ordered the half-bowl. Its pretty large, but much easier to eat and the portion size seemed larger than what we received in the wrap.
