Discovery Cove, SeaWorld Orlando's luxury all-inclusive day resort, announced that a 3 1/2 foot, 35-pound, female Atlantic bottlenose dolphin was born at the park. This marks the 25th dolphin born at the park. The dolphin was the first time from Discovery Cove was the conceived through the use of “sperm-sexing” research, a research method involving separating sperm carrying an X chromosome from sperm carrying a Y chromosome. This marks the 15th dolphin worldwide using the technique.
