Our new Vintage Guide to Orlando omits one vendors: Urban Outfitters.

This hipster magnet found in suburban malls across the country (if you haven't been it's like this generations Spenser's but less sex more ironic gifts, though gifts of sexual nature are prevalent at UO as well).

The store does now offer actual vintage clothing though that even has it's own tag explaining that the item in question came from a flea market or yard sale (or Goodwill even though that's not mentioned) and even encourages the potential buyer to embrace any defects, such as paint stains, the outfit might have.

The tag reads  "this unique found item was hand-selected for you from a yard sale or flea market. Any tears, holes, paint stains or other 'defects' we consider a virtue and not a flaw. Wear it well."

The store has been doing the vintage line off and on for years now.  A post on reddit caused the media to notice the practice and now many are calling on the chain to stop!

This all begs the question of the value of vintage clothing.  Are you willing to pay extra, sometimes a lot extra, to find just the right shirt? Or are you willing to spend the hours looking through the smelly and dated thrift store just to save some money?  It comes down to the issue of time vs money.  And is it wrong for a chain to do what so many vintage shops across the country are already doing?
