A new TD Bank is proposed for the long empty lot at the corner of Webster Ave and Orlando Ave (Hwy 17/92). The 2,964sq ft building will feature a large parking lot on two sides with 20 spaces (eight more than required for the size bank), a three lane drive-thru, and a modern stucco finish. The January 28th Winter Park City Commission will discuss the proposal but Planning and Zoning Board recommends that the project is approved with a few small changes mostly related to landscaping concerns. The landscaping plan does keep the large oak tree in the northeast corner of the lot while adding seven more trees. The location is interesting due to the fact that another bank site has been proposed for the southeast corner (the former Borders store) while a Fifth Third Bank recently opened on the southwest corner. Also a new WaWa financed by TD Bank just broke ground directly across from the TD Bank lot.
