Vegas Style Club Coming to I-Drive. Is I-Drive Orlando's Next Party District?

By Ken Storey

In a shift away from just families to a more well rounded entertainment district International Drive seems to be the latest hot spot for nightclubs.  The first of the new nighttime entertainment options along the Drive was Senor Frogs.  The famous Spring Break brand opened one year ago this month on I-Drive.  Now Mango's, a South Florida entertainment icon, has an I-Drive location in the works.  The new 49,000sq ft complex will include two floors of dining and entertainment and a roof top lounge that will be home to many special events.

Now it looks like I-Drive Live will add even more adult entertainment to the family focused street.  WFTV is reporting that the I-Drive Live complex, in the former Mercado location, will feature "a 20,000-square-foot Las Vegas-style night club with a pool."

The nightclub will be on the second floor of the northern building and will feature an indoor outdoor setting with a large pool and a clear view of the 425ft tall Orlando Eye observation wheel.  The I-Drive Live development will also feature a Madame Tussauds wax museum, a 25,000sq ft SeaLife aquarium and number of restaurants including Red Robin, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cooper’s Hawk Winery, Chuy’s, and Seafood Republic.  The development will open in phases with the entire project open by the end of 2014.
