Buy a Brick For Coming Monument in Newly Renamed Martin Luther King, Jr. Park

The City of Winter Park is selling bricks for fifty dollars that will eventually be used to build a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr monument inside the newly renamed Martin Luther King, Jr. Park at 1050 W. Morse Blvd. To purchase a brick, buy them in person at the Winter Park Community Center located at 721 W. New England Ave.
In June 2012 the City Commission unanimously approved the renaming of Lake Island Park to Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. Prior to the city’s annual Unity Heritage Festival January 21, 2013, a special dedication ceremony was held, and the park was officially dedicated. The entrance to the park where the future MLK monument will be positioned is located at the corner of Denning Drive and Morse Boulevard.
