A show review by my friend and photographer Dan Nguyen.
Trapt is an American rock band that formed in Los Gatos, California. The band is comprised of lead vocalist Chris Taylor Brown, bassist Pete Charell, lead guitarist Travis Migue and drummer Dylan Thomas Howard. Trapt is currently on their “Be The First To Be Reborn” tour and performed this Tuesday March 5th at the Central Florida Fairground sponsored by WJRR.
Trapt played over an hour energetic rock show that made you just want to throw your fists in the air, jump around, have a good time and rock out at the show. The band began their set with their hit “Who’s Going Home With You Tonight?” with fans gathering at the front of the stage and got the crowd singing. The band also played many other hits like “Waiting”, “These Walls”, “Made Of Glass” and one of my favorites “Echo” from the band’s self titled album. The band’s setlist ranged from a mix number of slow songs to heavier songs. Also in the middle part of their set, the band threw in a few surprises for the people of Orlando by playing a few new songs like "Living in the Eye of the Storm” and "Love Hate Relationship” from their new album Reborn.
Brown performed with great deep vocals while Travis Migue and Pete Charell played amazing guitar chords and riffs and drummer Dylan Thomas Howard drummed away. The band continued to rocked out and finished hard with rock anthems like “Stand Up”, “Contagious” and “Still Frame” and closed their awesome set with their biggest hit, “Headstrong” for the finale. Afterward the band went out to greet and say hello to fans at the merch. table.
Overall the band’s performance was fantastic and it was a show that had you pumped from beginning to end. Trapt has released five studio albums over the past decade with their newest release Reborn that was released in January. The band is continuing their U.S tour to mid-May. I would definitely recommend checking these guys out if you get the chance. Check their website or facebook for more information.
There were also a number of other fun activities to do at the Central Florida Fairground after watching an amazing show. There are a number of fun carnival rides like the Ferris Wheel, Power Surge, and many others. Beside the carnival rides there were also plenty choices of delicious food to choose from. For example like pizza, ice cones, funnel cakes and fried Oreos. The fair is until March 10th. The Central Florida Fair has something for everyone to enjoy. For more information on the fair please check here.
