Since 2010 Walt Disney World has held special coronation for their new princesses. Tiana was the first to be treated with the special royal coronation event. In 2011 Rapunzel was featured in such a ceremony. On May 11, 2013 at 9:30a Merida, from Brave, will officially become Disney's 11th Princess with her own royal coronation ceremony at the front steps of Cinderella Castle.

The other Disney princesses are Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Tiana, and Rapunzel. All are expected to make appearances at the royal coronation.  The event is open to all Magic Kingdom guests.
