Yesterday I shared information on Orlando's carshare pilot program that is currently in the works around downtown. Tim Maslow, City of Winter Park's Sustainability Coordinator, has confirmed with us that Winter Park is also working with FDOT on bringing carshare to Winter Park as well.
The efforts in Winter Park will likely 'piggy back' on Orlando's effort, a common practice for the area's smaller cities where they essentially 'cut and paste' the contracts other area cities have. Maslow identified two locations for the potential carshare program within Winter Park. The first is near Park Ave in the parking lot at the new Sunrail and Amtrak train station in Central Park. A second location will be Winter Park Village. Maslow also mentioned that Rollins College and "some others may also be interested over time."
