Last year Orlando based Darden Restaurants purchased Yard House for $585million in cash. The beer focused upscale-casual eatery features an American fusion menu and over 100 taps to complement it. The restaurant's claim to fame is its world's largest selection of draft beer.
Darden placed the brand under its more upscale lineup known as Darden’s Specialty Restaurant group. Other brands within the group include Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze and Eddie V’s Prime Seafood. Eddie V’s is a recent purchase for Darden. The first Orlando location of that brand will open on Sand Lake Road in the former Timpano space.

This left Yard House as the only Darden brand without an Orlando presence.
That will change next year when Darden will open a Yard House in the new I-Drive Live development currently under construction. The restaurant will be huge. It will be 14,063 sq ft and will include a 400 seat patio. This will be the sixth location for the state of Florida and the first outside of the Miami/Palm Beach market. The energetic rock music atmosphere of the restaurant should mix well with the Vegas style nightclubs and other brands expected in the I-Drive Live development.
