Sunday Open Mics: Natura Coffee & Tea and Austin's Coffee & Film

By Orlando Hipsters

It's a Sunday night and I've got work tomorrow. I'm looking to get out of the house, but don't want to get into anything too crazy. Plus I'm broke from all my weekend shenanigans. What's my solution? Ah yes, the ever-reliable "Open Mic Night". Almost every place in town has one, whether you're into singer/songwriters, comedy, poetry, or hip-hop. You just have to know where to go. Luckily, I do.

Natura Coffee & Tea (12078 Collegiate Way, Orlando) hosts a Spoken Word/Acoustic Open Mic , every Sunday which features an interesting mix of newcomers and fan favorites. It's a great place to grab some boba tea, unwind, and take in a plethora of local talent.

This girl sang an adorable song about how her cat is better than her ex-boyfriend

While you're here, get some hookah and peruse a variety of local art for sale

A pretty kickin' night for such a cozy little place

Afterwards I headed over to my standby joint, Austin's Coffee & Film (929 West Fairbanks Avenue, Winter Park), for their weekly Comedy Open Mic. Here Luke Swiderski entertains the crowd while Amanda Hope giggles on the patio.

Comedian Josh DiDonato makes it look so easy

And when all else fails, get yourself caught up in a Pong tournament in the back of the coffee house. Nicole is not too happy about losing to the barista.
