I told you back in June that Eola Square, a short strip of bars and restaurants in downtown Orlando on Eola Drive between The Sanctuary and 101 EOLA condo buildings, would be getting two new restaurants in the spaces formerly occupied by Nick's Italian Kitchen and Prickly Pear. These new restaurants, Lotus and Honey, are from Aura Florida Lounges, the same people behind the soon-to-open-maybe Aura Lounge, AURA and Don't Tell Anyone.
Lotus will open August 1 in The Sanctuary building (100 South Eola Drive, Orlando, FL 32801). Honey should open later in August.
A farm-to-table concept will be used throughout the Lotus menu which will include Jerusalem artichokes with artisan prosciutto, burrata and yellow tomato for $13; Korean spiced spare ribs with green papaya slaw for $9; rock shrimp & scallop croissant with smoked pear tomatoes, bibb lettuce and blueberry-black pepper compote for $12, and more.
Lotus will feature a stylish bar area and dining room with bright fuchsia and lime green accents throughout.
Julie Morris, Director of Marketing for AURA Florida Lounges, said “Lotus is designed to appeal to the 30-plus crowd who are seeking fine dining in a big-city atmosphere reminiscent of South Beach or Las Vegas.”
“Lotus will be THE place to be for weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas and innovative menu items,” said Erica Fallon CEO of AURA Florida Lounges. “Plus, we have the largest patio in Thornton Park where guests can dine alfresco in Orlando’s fine weather.”

“We expect both restaurants to take Orlando's culinary, entertainment and nightlife to a much-needed new level, creating the city's most anticipated hot spots,” Morris explained.
