Orlando Hipsters' Weekly Top 5: July 29 - August 2, 2013

Hey hip kids! OH here bringing you a new segment- my weekly Top 5 List of where you should be each night of the boring workweek. It changes each week, so be on the look-out for new fun things to try and places to be! As always, "Don't go out without checking here first!"

Free show? I'm down. Seriously, there's no better way to get involved in the scene than to randomly check out bands you may not have heard yet. And since it's free, you've got nothin' to lose. Not to mention that Will's is generally an excellent choice for kickin' back with a beer and a game of pool to relieve your Monday blues.

Tuesday, July 30, 2013 - 9:30pm: Cult Classics: MOTHRA (1962) at Enzian Theatre

I'm just gonna let the synopsis speak for itself: "
Shipwreck survivors are found on Beiru, an island previously used for atomic tests. Amazingly free of radiation effects, they believe they were protected by a special juice given to them by the natives. A joint expedition of Rolithican and Japanese scientists explores Beiru and discovers many curious things, including two women only a foot high. Unscrupulous expedition leader Clark Nelson abducts the women and puts them in a vaudeville show. But their sweet singing contains a telepathic cry for help to Mothra, the gigantic moth worshiped as a goddess by the island people. Mothra seeks the women in Tokyo, wreaking the usual havoc and special effects." Only $5!

Orlando Weekly's throwing a party for the Best of Orlando winners and it's invite-only, but you can get in if you RSVP through Facebook. The words "unlimited booze" caught my eye on the event page...
