Tonight, at Urban ReThink at 7pm, Parcels: MFAs in Progress will be showcasing the fiction, nonfiction, and poetry of
the University of Central Florida's Creative Writing MFA program
members. Students, faculty, and alums read works in progress, and
attendees are offered the chance to respond to a writing prompt.
Creative and connective efforts are at the heart of Urban ReThink’s mission. Urban Rethink strives to support artists and foster the creative spirit, and as a former bookstore, Urban ReThink aims to be the hub of literary action in Central Florida. The University of Central Florida’s Masters of the Fine Arts in Creative Writing program is a valued community partnership.
Parcels readers are current students, alumni, and faculty of the University of Central Florida’s Masters of the Fine Arts in Creative Writing program but anyone can come listen and provide constructive feedback. Readers for this event include: Brook Bennett, reading fiction; Devin Latham, reading nonfiction; Jeffrey Shuster, reading fiction; and Brendon Barnes, reading fiction.
Parcels is an Urban ReThink Signature Series occurring monthly, which means the admission price is a suggested $5 donation at the door, with all proceeds going towards the Urban Think Foundation.
