#BringToOrlando Barter Benches

By Ken Storey

Sometimes innovation is so simple that afterwards it seems glaringly obvious, such as the new Ruilbank (Dutch for 'Barter Bench') that Pivot Creative recently unveiled in Amsterdam.  A simple red clip is attached to nine benches around the city.  Each day new reading material, newspaper, or other item is attached to the clip.  The material is provided via partnerships with a local newspaper, the library, amongst others in the city.

Those that walk by the benches are free to use the material how they wish.  Some may just take it, while other may replace a good book with another book, the options on how to interact with the clips are endless.

The project runs from July 28 to September 28, 2013.
