Elitist
Better late than never. After allowing two fast food restaurants that clearly did not match the ethos of the rest of the street, Winter Park commissioners are banning Park Ave from allowing any more fast food restaurants. They've got more strict and less vague rules to help them now.
You could say that's snooty and elitist, but how many business districts in Orlando are legitimate destinations like Park Ave?
The City of Winter Park commission got burned by BurgerFi and Firehouse Subs, who provided the required table service under the old rules and got themselves grandfathered in before the rules changed. Yes, the only stipulation for getting your restaurant on Park Ave was having table service. And Firehouse Subs will have it when they open. But BurgerFi's table service is just them bringing you your food. You stand in line to order and you get your own drink. It's fast food, and that's not why visitors seek out Park Ave.
Now if they can get rid of that 7-11.
