About Performance: Public Mural Installation for a 7-story Parking Garage on Exterior concrete Walls
Theme: Performance will be a multi-level art Installation on the side of a 7- story parking garage. This garage is close to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, First Presbyterian church in downtown Orlando, The Christ School, and First United Methodist Church. We wish for this to be about the viewer as much as the artist who creates it. The general idea is to complement the public space experience at DPAC with a meaningful and creative mural on Magnolia.
Our hope is that the work will inspire young, and old. That it’s moving, thoughtful and has some homage to the art of performing. Music, dance, theater etc.
Criteria: Should be a partially removable medium. It can be paint but should have some ability to be removed if ownership at the discretion of the parking garage owner. We also need to understand maintenance parameters. Since this is outside and would be exposed to the eastern sun will it fade and how long is the life of the mural before it needs retouching.
Location: East face of Magnolia/Jackson Parking Garage near Performing Arts Center
