My friend Alicia and I headed out to A Petrified Forest tonight. We had a blast!! In my opinion A Petrified Forest really gives you one of the best values for your Halloween buck.
If you have never visited this haunt it is located outside in a forest complete with corn field! So be sure to wear closed toed shoes. Oh and bring cash, they have an ATM but save yourself the fees.
One of the things that impressed me was the lack of being rushed. People are put through in smaller groups with enough time between groups that you don't run into each other. That is unless the group ahead of you get scared and is afraid to move forward (true story!). You are given time to look around and sometimes the characters will pause you in their area by not letting you go through so quick!
The characters are given room to move in their scene. They totally use their area in different ways. Go through more than once and you will be surprised at how things change. You'll be surprised at where the scares come from because they're every where and in every direction!
The creativity in design and the passion that the actors have for what they do will always keep me coming back and recommending that everyone put this haunt on their schedule!
Take the time to hang out and watch in the court yard. A Petrified Forest has characters roaming the area. There will be great people watching as you see the running victims! There is music and vendors. Be sure to visit E.B. Fairfax Kettle Corn. It is some of the BEST kettle corn you'll find! I have already munched on half of the bag writing this! Seriously delish!
A Petrified Forest runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until November 2nd with a special kids day on Saturday October 12 and Lights Out event on Friday November 1 and Saturday November 2nd.
They are located on S.R. 436,just 1/4 mile West of 17-92 1360 E Altamonte Dr, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701 about 20 minuted from downtown,
