Semoran Boulevard Sidewalk and Streetscape Improvement Project Dedication Ceremony

Today, Wednesday, October 23, 2013, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz will lay the final paver at a dedication ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Semoran Boulevard Sidewalk and Streetscape Improvement Project. The revitalization project extends from Curry Ford Road to Colonial Drive along Semoran Boulevard and features many pedestrian upgrades that will enhance safety in this high-traffic area including eight-foot wide sidewalks, upgraded crosswalks at signalized intersections and ADA ramp improvements.
The completion of the Semoran Boulevard Improvements project signifies a milestone in the vision plan for the Semoran Corridor, the main gateway for visitors to the Orlando community. Developed under Commissioner Ortiz’s leadership, the Semoran Boulevard Vision Plan is a long-term guide for future developments and improvements in the area.
Through the vision plan process, the City and Commissioner Ortiz have helped the Semoran neighborhood shape the community’s future by positioning it for future development. Through revitalization efforts such as these, Semoran Boulevard will be prepared for future growth.
