Downtown Disney Marketplace Co Op Brings Shopping Experiences of Seattle, San Francisco, LA and NYC to Orlando

Tom Sheldon, manager of retail design and development for Disney Theme Park Merchandise, describes The Marketplace Co Op, the new "stores within a store" coming to Downtown Disney Marketplace Spring 2014, as a "laboratory to showcase new concepts and specialty products."

In a brief interview with Disney Parks Blog, Sheldon pines on shopping experiences in Seattle, San Francisco, LA and NYC: "...they are compelling and distinct, allow visitors to connect to the environment, and foster a sense of discovery." This is apparently their goal with this new shop.” Sheldon called it an "incubator" for new retail shops and products. If this ends up being true, it will give Orlando locals and Disney tourists first dibs at seeing new, raw ideas in the flesh from Disney, prior to national and international roll out! For those of us who love sneak peeks, this is big news!
