Orlando the Gay Honeymoon Mecca the Goal of LGBT Convention and Visitors Bureau for Central Florida

In the next 12 months, an estimated 50,000 same sex couples will get married in one of the 15 States that have enacted The Freedom to Marry legislation. That is an estimated $150 million spent on honeymoons over the next 12 months. According to the latest U.S. census, there are over 620,000 LGBT couples living under the same roof in the United States alone. Orlando wants a part of that!

Converge Orlando Inc., the LGBT Convention and Visitors Bureau for Central Florida, just announced the launch of its "HONEYMOON: Destination, Orlando" campaign set to begin on December 1, 2013 to include print, Facebook ads, radio and over $50,000 spent on Google ad-words in select markets.

Between November 10 and 25, 2013, Converge Orlando will be enrolling participating Hotels & Resorts which must be members of the organization. The offers provided by these establishments will be listed on www.orlandogaytravel.com/honeymoon after December 1. Specials on rooms, parks, dining will be offered to honeymooners by simply presenting their marriage certificate.   This campaign is sponsored by Macy’s and The Wedding Alliance.
