The $17 million west Church Street improvement project began April 8, 2013 and as you can see from the photos we took Wednesday January 1, it's in full swing. Streets are dirt, sidewalks are ripped up and brand new curbs are laid. The project has an expected completion date of June 2014 and will link the east side of Church Street, with its bars and restaurants, to the west side, with its Amway Center, Citrus Bowl, the upcoming soccer stadium and multiple new construction projects. The project runs 1.2 miles down Church Street, reaching from Tampa Avenue to Division Street.
