Demolition Ceremony at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium: Public Invited

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Florida Citrus Sports invite the Central Florida community to a demolition ceremony to commence reconstruction of the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium. The program will be held on the field of the Florida Citrus Bowl stadium.

  • Appropriate construction attire is required (no dresses, shorts, skirts, open-toed shoes or heels.)
  • Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium, 1 Citrus Bowl Place
  • Parking is available in parking lots 6, 7 and 9 (east side of stadium) at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium.

Since opening in 1936 as a public works project under President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Works Progress Administration, the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium has undergone numerous expansions and name changes over the years. Now, the stadium is about to undergo major demolition and reconstruction allowing it to draw new, high-profile events like neutral-site NCAA college football games, NFL pre-season match-ups and concerts.
