Carlton from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck at Giant Fundraiser: WHAAAAT!

A Gift For Teaching (AGFT), Central Florida’s primary provider of free school supplies to teachers and students, will host its annual Back-to-School Blast! event on March 29, 2014 at the Rosen Shingle Creek.  Celebrity guest, Alfonso Ribeiro, “Carlton” from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, will present and mingle with attendees. The nighttime play date will include a silent auction, a “playroom” with games and signature martini bar, a live paint show from Rock Demarco and a program that will highlight AGFT’s achievements.

“We want to take our guests on a trip down memory lane to remember what it’s like to be a kid again,” said Jane Thompson, president of AGFT. “Guests can have fun with skee-ball, play Curtis Earth’s trivia game, take a spin on the dance floor, make memories in the photo booth, try their arm at the Wine Toss and grab a sweet treat out of The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck. We’ll also have plenty of celebrity sightings including Chris Kirkpatrick from ‘Nsync, Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw from the Orlando Magic, and Alfonso Ribeiro, ‘Carlton’ from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

Guests can purchase individual tickets for $100, or a table of 10 for $900. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The event will include plenty of food and live entertainment throughout the night.

“We’ll be partying like it’s 1999 as we celebrate AGFT’s 15th inception with founder Gary Landwirth,” said Marisa Worley, director of development. Proceeds from the event will help 180,000 Central Florida students in need in to ensure each child has the basic learning tools and experiences they deserve to succeed in school and life.
