12 Cars For Rent by the Hour in Downtown Orlando From Hertz

With the launch of SunRail, local transportation agencies are looking to improve upon the connectivity options available in Downtown Orlando. One of those options, hourly car rentals through Hertz 24/7®, offers mid-day convenience with a fleet of 12 vehicles available to run errands during the day. Downtown residents also benefit from the program, particularly if they are a “one-car” household and need a car any day of the week, any time of the day.

The City of Orlando recently identified three new parking spaces that will increase visibility of the hourly rental cars, with the hope that more commuters and residents will take note and enroll with Hertz 24/7.

Twelve cars will remain in the fleet, at a total of nine locations. Six locations will now have one car each and three locations will have two cars each. Previously, two cars were stationed at each of the six locations. Renters will still need to return their rental car to the original parking space where they picked up the car.

The three new locations that will each have one car available are:

  • Ivanhoe Village District on N. Orange Avenue, just south of E. New Hampshire Street
  • S. Orange Avenue, just north of E. Amelia Street
  • N. Eola Drive, just south of Washington Street
The three existing locations that will continue to have two cars available are:
  • Broadway Avenue, just north of Robinson Street
  • Eola Drive, just south of Central Boulevard
  • Parking Lot #10 under I-4, at Central Boulevard and Hughey Avenue
The three existing locations that will now have one car available are:
  • Florida Hospital-Orlando
  • Alexander Place (site of the future Creative Village)
  • CNL Parking Garage behind City Hall
Hertz 24/7 introduced hourly car rentals to Downtown Orlando in October 2013 with the help of two local partners. The City of Orlando and the Florida Department of Transportation joined forces to provide parking spaces and marketing support through the FDOT’s reThink program. While approximately 400 people have already signed up for free with Hertz 24/7, adjusting the fleet and adding more visible parking spaces are part of a strategic decision to increase both utilization and enrollment.

To enroll for free, visit Hertz247.com or visit their Downtown Orlando branch office on the bottom floor of the Chase Plaza, located at 139 S. Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801.
