Plain Clothes officers Will Ticket You $164 Wednesday and Thursday for Not Yielding to Pedestrians

Tomorrow and Thursday the Orlando Police Department (OPD) and Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSO) will be citing drivers for failing to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, as Florida law requires. Plain clothes officers will cross the street in marked crosswalks at intersections with high pedestrian activity. Officers will stop those vehicles that do not yield to pedestrians and those drivers may face a fine of $164, and three (3) points on the driver’s license. Locations and date details are below.

Wednesday, June 4
  • E. Rollins St. and Camden Rd 7:30 - 8:30 am
  • Mercy Dr. and Kalwit Lane 9:00 - 10:00 am
Thursday, June 5
  • Virginia Drive and Dinky Line (urban trail) 7:30 – 8:30 am
  • Conway Road and Hargill Drive 9:00-10:00am
