South Orange Avenue in Downtown Orlando was closed on July 19th to accommodate reconstruction of the roadway. The full closure of Orange Avenue allowed for roadway and pedestrian enhancements including improved crosswalks and increased audible pedestrian signals. Additionally, the roadway was realigned to add a dedicated right turn lane that will tie into the upcoming Ultimate I-4 expansion project.
This Monday, August 11 at 6:00 a.m. South Orange Avenue will fully reopen between Anderson Street and South Street.
The right turn lane on eastbound South Street on to southbound Orange Avenue from Boone will remain closed to facilitate additional construction activities.
