The +/-1.35 acres of green space in lake Eola Park north of E. Central Blvd., south of E. Washington St., east of Lake Eola and west of N. Eola Drive might have its zoning district changed from Residential High Intensity to Public, Recreational and Institutional if the City of Orlando's application to do so is approved. The city also wishes to move the Future Land Use Subarea Policy S.7.1 to exclude the site and rezone it to P (Public Use) with the Traditional City (/T) overlay, to allow for redevelopment, consistent with property within Lake Eola Park. This request goes before the board at the August 18th Municipal Planning Board hearing.
