The College Park Neighborhood Association will host the Annual Tour of Homes, featuring the Lake Adair National Register Historic District, Sunday, November 1. Homes will be open to the public for viewing from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Tour will highlight ten private homes that are architecturally interesting, historic, or have current modifications in this quaint and charming neighborhood. The tour will also include local artists, musicians, and antique cars.
In years past, CPNA provided a homes tour featuring only homes that had historical designation and architecture. Barbara Fischler, Chairman, has brought the College Park Tour of Homes into the 21st Century. Garnering the support of local members of the Tour of Homes committee, it was noted that neighbors were interested in homes that had been modified or that were recently built. The past two years, the Tour of Homes has included homes that are interesting because they have both historical and modern features. “It has been a joy to work with homeowners who are committed to our community and want to share the pride they have in their homes with the community,” says Fischler. “But,” she goes on to say, “the real bonus is working with the volunteers in the community who give so generously of their time and effort to make this event such a success. The patrons who advertise in our program are so supportive and believe in our neighborhood. It makes College Park unique. It has been so rewarding to make the lasting friendships that happen when you work together as a team. We would welcome anyone who wants to come out and join our committee. We promise you fast friendships.”
Advance tickets can be purchased during normal business hours October 26–30 at Anne Rogers Realty Group, 3900 Edgewater Drive, and Sutton & Sutton Realty, 1223 Edgewater Drive. College Park Neighborhood Association members receive two free admissions. Ticket cost for non-members is $25.00. CPNA membership is available at the event or online at www.mycpna.com/join.
